Te Whare Wai Para Nuku – Moa Point sludge minimisation facility
We’re building a world-class facility, the first of its type in Aotearoa, to reduce the amount of sewage sludge created through our wastewater treatment process and turn it into a safe, reusable product.
Te Whare Wai Para Nuku will allow us to reduce our carbon emissions and waste to landfill, helping us protect Papatūānuku for future generations wcc.govt.nz/sludge

Wellington City Council spent $2.5M on a pedestrian crossing.T___________T Is that true?? !! Over 1.4 million USD (after exchange rate) for Less than 10 KM of pedestrian cross. How can it not be as famous as the Beedle's Crossing ~
What if the bus do not be on the bus lane??
Can anyone explain why bus lanes operate outside peak hours? A dedicated lane makes sense when there are lots of buses and/or lots of traffic, sure, but that's about an hour in the morning and an hour at night, with a bit of a blip on some routes at midday. The rest of the time, they're empty most of the time and have no impact on bus speeds/flow. Is it: - WCC revenue raising; - WCC incompetence; - WCC trying to alter driver behaviour, even though no need and it will just result in a voting backlash; or - all of the above?
“50m is the same as one Olympic Swimming pool” 🤣🤣 Right that helps - everyone is very familiar with Olympic Swimming Pools. FFS WCC…
so happy that we have to deal with bus lanes and the buses being stuck in the same traffic as cars when we could have had light rail... ... NOT! very uninspiring. And now we have to teach ppl how to drive...
I didn't know that you can use bus lane within 50 metres before you turn, that is handy.
Accessibility : for a sample street its not 10 days/fortnight Surely bigger bins when used are a bigger obstruction
In that representative survey, 73% of people surveyed either did not want to see any sale of the airport, or only a partial sale, or did not know, or wanted some other option, and only 63% of those surveyed wanted a full or partial sale, and only 27% wanted a full sale. The survey results do not support a sale of council's shares of the Airport.
It would be really nice if the person speaking could at least stand up, and preferably stand in a location where their face of speakers can be seen by the camera.
Why all the woke virtue signalling in this meeting?
8:35:40. This man is an absolute champion. What a disrespectful chairperson and mayor. Heads well in the sand. Would expect better from a 10year-old
Classic WCC can’t face firm criticism. Keep deleting comments, great way to treat your distraught ratepayers struggling to afford their rates….. you are ignorant to the impact your incompetence has on thousands of peoples mental health….
Tiger time!!!
Why celebrate a lady who destroyed new zealand familys all over new zealand
Cool. Now maybe work on lowering rates….
i had mcdonalds for breakfast this morning.🍲
The homeless will love it. So will Queensgate and North City. Clueless Green Council, can’t even get the basics right, no chance they will get this right….
Cool. Lots of pointless arm-rests on those benches though.
Are the double height gutters of C’Pl staying? Not often found elsewhere, but super handy for both easy/level boarding and alighting as the back door level doesn’t ‘kneel’
Looks like HUGE gaps between bus stops. Shame the bus won’t be able to get ‘up to speed’ between them to make up for longer dwells as the pedestrians are so close it should necessitate lower speeds in general = slower buses/less buses per hr
lol remember this
beautiful!! this mural is such an eye-catcher and I always stop and appreciate it every time I come by
Promo`SM
huge W for wellington, all my homies HATE the IHP - dissapointed the catchments were so limited to 5 min but whatever
You're a positive force!
My father evolved wellington city 1970s 80s now its our generations turn to evolve.
this reminds me of the time I swallowed dirt _🟫_
Straight to the point and exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you!
I can't believe this! Utter stupidity! Ratepayers sold down the river who seemingly have NO say! I am very very angry and yes I am a ratepayer!
The voters voted for this :)
Congrats Geordie! A great day for the city.
Going bankrupt is real progress???

Kia ora. The District Plan Hearing has been delayed by half an hour, the Livestream will return shortly. Mā te wā, nā ^Mollie
Earthquakes and decent LITTLE apartments not a speculation rort on the ECONOMY and young. Your committee ment to address this was a farce

I have seen a verticle bike stand somewhere in Wellington shaped pretty much like an umbrella that is retracted and would handle I think at least 4 or more bikes circularly, can anyone confirm where exactly if they have seen it. This bike stand is ideal for limited spaces for bike storage in a public space. cheers
I wonder if they ever found a washing machine or exhaust stack 😂
Kiaora sis mean mahi
wow amazing history right there! Thank you team for everything you do, being a genealogy enthusiast these records are so helpful. I am really enjoying your newsletters, full of information! I love the staff profiles and the street entries, I am particularly interested in Wallace Street, as my family were early settlers to NZ. Wish I could work for Archives 🤭
On off ramps into miramar would be on piles in the ocean nice straight lines tie into welly wood sign round about
clean and greener ???? who are this stakeholders ??? councilor Ray please tell us who are they meeting ??
How interesting! I see his bright active complex mural as the water station is built near Taranaki St.
The council members don’t and shouldn’t need to be in the details of WW’s operations and plans. They told you three key things: - Current funding isn’t enough to stand still. - You need to significantly increase funding to have a chance at moving forward. - The council has no actual chance of ever being able to afford the true costs of fixing our pipes. The question for the council is how are you going to work with Government to secure an alternative funding method so this can happen? Getting into details of x,y,z leak on your constituents streets is simply a waste if time and money. If you want to be the operational manager at WW apply for that role. Look up, look at the big issue and solve that.
Looks so fun!
😂
I had an idea of a wellington harbour bridge from ngaranga gorge to shelly bay or past shelly bay on piles to airport and off ramps into miramar peninsular. Harbour depth 30 to 60 m cost 1.1 billion highest point for ships 130 to 150 highest point Piles 20 to 40 m deep rods ocean floor.
Hire me
I'd like to know too :)
Is this the one where you bought the Reading Cinema land with Ratepayer money you don’t have?
How can it be fair when my property rates increased by 60% but the price of my property has dropped by 20%!!
